Brahman (pronunciation: /ˈbrɑːmən/) is a key concept in Hinduism, often referred to as the ultimate reality or supreme cosmic power in the universe.

Etymology

The term Brahman is derived from the Sanskrit root brh, which means "to grow" or "to expand". It is often interpreted as the expansive force of the universe.

Definition

Brahman is considered the ultimate reality in the universe, beyond all dualities and contradictions. It is the unchanging, infinite, immanent, and transcendent reality which is the Divine Ground of all matter, energy, time, space, being, and everything beyond in this Universe.
