Bodybuilder (/ˈbɒd.iˌbɪl.dər/) is a person who uses weight training and specific nutrition to enlarge and define their muscles for aesthetic purposes. The practice of bodybuilding often involves participation in competitive events where bodybuilders display their physiques to a panel of judges who assign points based on appearance.

The term "bodybuilder" is derived from the English words "body" and "build", referring to the act of building up the body through specific exercises and diet.
