Aphelion (pronounced: /əˈfiːliən/) is a term used in Astronomy to describe the point in the orbit of a planet, asteroid, or comet at which it is furthest from the sun.

The term "Aphelion" originates from the Greek words "apo" meaning away, and "Helios" meaning sun.
