Naproxen/diphenhydramine is a combination medication used to treat symptoms such as pain and difficulty sleeping associated with conditions like arthritis and menstrual cramps. It contains two active ingredients: Naproxen, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID), and Diphenhydramine, an antihistamine.

Composition

The medication is composed of two active ingredients:

  • Naproxen: This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that works by reducing hormones that cause inflammation and pain in the body.
  • Diphenhydramine: This is an antihistamine that is used to relieve symptoms of allergy, hay fever, and the common cold. It is also used to prevent and treat nausea, vomiting and dizziness caused by motion sickness.

Uses

Naproxen/diphenhydramine is used to treat:

  • Arthritis: It helps to reduce pain and inflammation in the joints.
  • Menstrual cramps: It can help to alleviate the pain associated with menstrual cramps.
  • Insomnia: Diphenhydramine is also used to help you relax and fall asleep.
