Adams County, Washington is a county located in the U.S. state of Washington. As of the 2020 United States Census, the population was 19,983. The county seat is Ritzville, and the largest city is Othello. Adams County was created out of Whitman County on November 28, 1883, and is named in honor of the second President of the United States, John Adams.
Geography
Adams County is part of the Columbia Plateau, featuring a landscape dominated by farmland and sagebrush. The county covers an area of 1,925 square miles, of which 1,922 square miles is land and 3.0 square miles (0.2%) is water.
