Acediasulfone

Acediasulfone (pronunciation: a-ce-di-a-sul-fone) is a sulfone derivative used in the treatment of leprosy. It is also known as 4,4'-Diaminodiphenylsulfone.

Etymology

The term "Acediasulfone" is derived from the Greek word "acedia" meaning indifference, and "sulfone", a chemical compound containing sulfur.

Usage

Acediasulfone is primarily used in the treatment of leprosy, a chronic infectious disease caused by Mycobacterium leprae. It is often used in combination with other drugs in a multi-drug therapy approach to effectively treat and manage the disease.
