Abul K. Abbas (pronounced: ah-bool k. ah-bahs) is a renowned pathologist and author, best known for his contributions to the field of immunology.

Etymology

The name "Abul" is of Arabic origin, meaning "father of". The middle initial "K." is an abbreviation of his middle name, which is not widely known. "Abbas" is also of Arabic origin, meaning "lion".

Career

Abul K. Abbas is currently a Distinguished Professor in Pathology and a member of the Department of Pathology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).
