Aarupadai Veedu Medical College
Aarupadai Veedu Medical College (AVMC) is a medical school located in Pondicherry, India. Established in 2000, it is managed by the Vinayaka Missions University (VMU) and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
History
The Aarupadai Veedu Medical College was established in the year 2000 with the aim of providing quality medical education to students from India and abroad. The college is named after the six abodes (Aarupadai Veedu) of Lord Muruga, a deity revered in Tamil Nadu.
Campus
The AVMC campus is located in Pondicherry, a union territory in India known for its French colonial heritage. The campus houses the medical college, hospital, hostels, and other facilities. The college has a well-equipped library with a vast collection of books and journals.
Academics
AVMC offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in medicine. The MBBS course is of five and a half years duration, including a one-year compulsory rotating internship. The postgraduate courses include MD, MS, and diploma courses in various specialties.
