ANOVA (pronounced /əˈnoʊvə/), or Analysis of Variance, is a collection of statistical models and their associated estimation procedures used to analyze the differences among group means in a sample. The ANOVA was developed by statistician Ronald Fisher.
Etymology
The term ANOVA was derived from the English phrase Analysis of Variance. It was coined by Ronald Fisher, a British statistician and geneticist, who is considered by many to be the father of modern statistics.
