3-Methylmethcathinone (3-MMC) is a psychoactive drug that has stimulant properties. It is a synthetic cathinone found in the khat plant of eastern Africa. It shares structural similarities with methcathinone and has been found to produce similar effects to other substituted cathinones such as mephedrone (4-MMC). Due to its stimulant effects, it has been used recreationally and is known to produce euphoria, increased energy, and sociability. Chemistry

3-Methylmethcathinone belongs to the substituted cathinone class, which are beta-ketone amphetamine analogs. The chemical formula for 3-MMC is C11H15NO. It exists in two enantiomers, meaning it has two forms that are mirror images of each other but cannot be superimposed.
