Anadin is a brand of painkiller sold in the United Kingdom and Ireland. It is manufactured by Pfizer and is available over the counter in pharmacies and general retail stores.

Composition[edit]

Anadin products contain various combinations of aspirin, paracetamol, and caffeine. The specific composition varies depending on the product. For example, Anadin Extra contains aspirin, paracetamol, and caffeine, while Anadin Paracetamol only contains paracetamol.

Uses[edit]

Anadin is used to relieve pain, reduce inflammation, and lower fever. It is effective against a variety of conditions, including headache, migraine, neuralgia, toothache, sore throat, period pain, rheumatic pain, and muscular aches and pains. It can also be used to relieve the symptoms of colds and flu.

Side Effects[edit]

Like all medications, Anadin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Common side effects include nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and heartburn. In rare cases, it can cause bleeding in the stomach or allergic reactions.

Precautions[edit]

Before taking Anadin, individuals should consult with a healthcare professional if they have a history of stomach ulcers, are taking other medications, or have a known allergy to aspirin, paracetamol, or caffeine. It is also not recommended for children under the age of 16.
