Harvey's is a Canadian fast food restaurant chain that is known for its hamburgers. Founded in 1959 by George B. Sukornyk, Harvey's is one of the oldest fast food chains in Canada. The chain is a subsidiary of Recipe Unlimited, which also owns other popular brands such as Swiss Chalet, Kelsey's, and Montana's.

History[edit]

Harvey's was established in Richmond Hill, Ontario in 1959. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its flame-grilled burgers and customizable toppings. By the 1970s, Harvey's had expanded significantly, opening numerous locations across Canada.

Menu[edit]

Harvey's menu primarily focuses on hamburgers, but it also offers a variety of other items including French fries, hot dogs, poutine, onion rings, and salads. One of the unique features of Harvey's is the ability for customers to customize their burgers with a wide range of toppings.

Signature Items[edit]

  • Original Burger: A flame-grilled beef patty served on a toasted bun with customizable toppings.
  • Veggie Burger: A vegetarian option made from a blend of vegetables and grains.
  • Poutine: A classic Canadian dish made with French fries, cheese curds, and gravy.

Locations[edit]

As of 2021, Harvey's operates 274 locations across Canada. The majority of these are located in Ontario, but the chain also has a presence in other provinces including Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia.

Marketing[edit]

Harvey's has used various marketing campaigns over the years to promote its brand. One of the most notable slogans is "Harvey's makes your hamburger a beautiful thing," emphasizing the customizable nature of their burgers.

Parent Company[edit]

Harvey's is a subsidiary of Recipe Unlimited, a Canadian company that owns several other restaurant brands. Recipe Unlimited was formerly known as Cara Operations and is one of the largest restaurant operators in Canada.
