Kompania Piwowarska was established in 1999 through the merger of two historic Polish breweries: Lech Browary Wielkopolski in Pozna_ and Tyskie Browary Ksi___ce in Tychy. These breweries have roots dating back to the 19th century, with Tyskie Browary Ksi___ce being one of the oldest breweries in Poland, founded in 1629.

In 2009, Kompania Piwowarska became a part of SABMiller, one of the world's largest brewing companies. In 2016, following the acquisition of SABMiller by Anheuser-Busch InBev, Kompania Piwowarska became part of the Asahi Group Holdings, a major Japanese beverage company.
