East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) is the emergency medical services provider for the East Midlands region of the United Kingdom. It provides emergency, urgent care and patient transport services for the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Rutland, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, and Nottinghamshire.

History

The East Midlands Ambulance Service was established in 1999, following the merger of several smaller ambulance services in the region. The aim was to provide a more efficient and effective service to the people of the East Midlands.

Services

EMAS provides a range of services, including:

• Emergency response: EMAS responds to 999 calls and provides immediate medical assistance to patients in life-threatening situations.
• Urgent care: For patients who need immediate care but are not in a life-threatening situation, EMAS provides urgent care services.
