The hospital is part of the NHS Nightingale Hospitals project, a group of temporary hospitals set up by NHS England as part of the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

History[edit]

The NHS Nightingale Hospital North West was officially opened on 17 April 2020. The hospital was designed to provide extra critical care capacity during the pandemic, with the ability to care for up to 750 patients.

Facilities[edit]
