The University of California, Davis (UC Davis) is a public university and land-grant university located in Davis, California. It is part of the University of California system and is known for its programs in agriculture, veterinary medicine, biological sciences, and engineering.
History
UC Davis was established in 1905 as the University Farm, an extension of UC Berkeley. It became a general campus of the University of California system in 1959. The campus has grown significantly over the years and now encompasses 7,309 acres, making it the largest campus in the UC system by land area.
