Melanotroph
Melanotrophs are specialized cells located in the pituitary gland, specifically in the pars intermedia, which is a part of the anterior pituitary. These cells are responsible for the production and secretion of melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH). MSH plays a crucial role in the regulation of skin pigmentation, influencing the production and distribution of melanin in the skin and hair.
