Mary Sue Milliken

Mary Sue Milliken is a renowned American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. She is best known for her contributions to the culinary world, particularly in the realm of Mexican cuisine. Early Life and Education

Career

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America, Milliken moved to Chicago where she worked at the renowned Le Perroquet. She later moved to Los Angeles and started working at the City Restaurant with Susan Feniger. In 1985, Milliken and Feniger opened the first Border Grill in Hollywood, which was later moved to Santa Monica. The restaurant quickly gained popularity for its innovative Mexican cuisine.

Milliken and Feniger expanded their business by opening several other Border Grill locations, including in Las Vegas and Downtown Los Angeles. They also started a food truck business, bringing their unique flavors to various locations around Los Angeles.

Television and Media

Milliken has made numerous television appearances. She co-hosted the Food Network show, Too Hot Tamales, with Susan Feniger. The show was a huge success and helped to increase the popularity of their restaurants. Milliken has also appeared on Top Chef Masters, where she showcased her culinary skills to a wider audience.

Awards and Recognition
