Fonio is a type of small cereal grains, a type of ancient grain, originally from West Africa.

Types[edit]

There are two types - black and white

Cultivation[edit]

It is cultivated primarily in West Africa, in countries such as Guinea which produces majority of the world's Fonio, Nigeria, Togo, and Benin. It grows well in dry and arid areas without any need for irrigation.
