Tea Research and Extension Station
Tea Research and Extension Station (TRES) is a research and development institution in Taiwan that focuses on the improvement and promotion of the tea industry. It is a part of the Council of Agriculture of the Executive Yuan.
History
The Tea Research and Extension Station was established in 1903 during the Japanese rule of Taiwan. Its initial purpose was to promote the cultivation of black tea for export. After the handover of Taiwan to the Republic of China in 1945, the station continued its research and development activities, focusing on the improvement of tea quality and the development of new tea varieties.
