Cancer Council Australia is a national, non-governmental organisation committed to reducing the impact of cancer on all Australians. It is the leading cancer charity in Australia and works across every aspect of every cancer, from research to prevention and support.

History

Cancer Council Australia was established in 1961 as the Australian Cancer Society. It was renamed Cancer Council Australia in 1997. The organisation is a member of the International Union Against Cancer.

Mission

The mission of Cancer Council Australia is to reduce the impact of cancer on Australians by preventing cancer, enhancing the quality of life of those affected by cancer, and contributing to the reduction of cancer worldwide.
