Laredo is a city located in Webb County, Texas, United States. It is situated on the north bank of the Rio Grande, across from Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. With a population of approximately 260,654 as of 2020, it is the tenth-most populous city in Texas.

History

Laredo has a rich history that dates back to its founding in 1755 by Don Tomás Sánchez. Originally a Spanish settlement, it became an important trading post due to its strategic location on the Rio Grande.
