The Special Operations Battalion (Croatian: Bojna za specijalna djelovanja, BSD) is an elite unit of the Croatian Armed Forces tasked with conducting special operations. Established in 2000, the unit is based in Delnice, Croatia, and operates under the command of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia.
History
The Special Operations Battalion was formed in response to the need for a highly trained and versatile military unit capable of executing a wide range of special operations. The unit was officially established in 2000, drawing on the experiences and traditions of Croatian special forces units that operated during the Croatian War of Independence.
