MTA2 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MTA2 gene. It is a part of the metastasis-associated protein family, which is involved in a variety of cellular processes such as cell cycle progression, DNA repair, and transcription regulation.
Function[edit]
MTA2 is a component of the nucleosome remodeling and deacetylase (NuRD) complex, which is involved in the remodeling of chromatin by deacetylating histones. This process is crucial for transcriptional regulation, cell cycle progression, and developmental events.
