Jodhpur is a city in the Rajasthan state of India. It is the second largest city in the state and is known for its rich history, culture, and architectural beauty. The city is often referred to as the "Blue City" due to the blue-painted houses around the Mehrangarh Fort.

Jodhpur was founded by Rao Jodha, a chief of the Rathore clan, in 1459. The city was strategically located on the silk route of the 16th century, which led to its rapid development. The city covers an area of 78.6 square kilometers and is about 335 kilometers away from the state capital, Jaipur.
