The Independent Psychiatric Association of Russia was established in 1989, during a period of significant political and social change in the Soviet Union. The organization was founded by a group of psychiatrists who were dissatisfied with the state of psychiatric care in the country and sought to promote a more humane and ethical approach to mental health treatment.

The organization offers a variety of programs and resources aimed at enhancing the knowledge and skills of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals. These include workshops, seminars, and conferences on a wide range of topics related to psychiatry and mental health.

Research[edit]

In addition to its advocacy and education efforts, the IPAR conducts research into various aspects of psychiatry and mental health. This research is aimed at improving the understanding of mental health conditions and developing more effective treatments and interventions.
