Evdokia Anagnostou

Evdokia Anagnostou is a pediatric neurologist and senior clinician scientist at the Bloorview Research Institute and the co-lead of the Autism Research Centre in Toronto, Canada. Her research focuses on understanding the neurobiology of autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders in order to develop targeted treatments.

Early Life and Education

Anagnostou completed her medical degree at the University of Patras, Greece. She then moved to the United States for her residency in Pediatrics at the State University of New York at Buffalo. She completed her fellowship in Child Neurology and a research fellowship in Movement Disorders at the Boston Children's Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

Career and Research

Anagnostou's research primarily focuses on the neurobiology of autism and related neurodevelopmental disorders. She is interested in understanding the genetic and environmental factors that contribute to the development of these disorders, and how these factors influence brain development and function. Her work involves the use of advanced neuroimaging techniques, genomic analyses, and clinical trials to investigate these questions.

She is also involved in the development of novel therapeutic approaches for autism and related disorders. This includes the use of pharmacological treatments, as well as non-pharmacological interventions such as behavioral therapy and neurofeedback.
