NHS Nightingale Hospital North West is a temporary critical care hospital established in Manchester, United Kingdom in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The hospital is part of the NHS Nightingale Hospitals project, a group of temporary hospitals set up by NHS England as part of the country's response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
History[edit]
The NHS Nightingale Hospital North West was officially opened on 17 April 2020. The hospital was set up in the Manchester Central Convention Complex, a large conference and exhibition centre in the city. The hospital was designed to provide extra critical care capacity during the pandemic, with the ability to care for up to 750 patients.
Facilities[edit]
The hospital is equipped with the necessary facilities to provide intensive care for patients with COVID-19. This includes ventilators, oxygen therapy equipment, and monitoring equipment. The hospital also has a team of experienced critical care staff, including doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Operations[edit]
The NHS Nightingale Hospital North West is managed by the Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The hospital is designed to be a step-down facility, providing care for patients who are recovering from COVID-19 and no longer require intensive care in a traditional hospital setting.
