PepsiCo has also launched a number of initiatives to support local communities and improve the lives of its employees. For example, the company has launched a program to provide access to clean drinking water in developing countries, and has implemented a number of health and wellness programs for its employees.

Controversies[edit]

Like many large corporations, PepsiCo has faced a number of controversies over the years. One of the most notable was a 2012 lawsuit filed by a group of Indian farmers, who claimed that the company had infringed on their intellectual property rights by using a variety of potato that they had developed without their permission. PepsiCo has also faced criticism for its marketing practices, particularly in relation to its sugary drink products. Some health experts have accused the company of contributing to the obesity epidemic by marketing sugary drinks to children and young people.
