Peter James Stringfellow (17 October 1940 – 7 June 2018) was a British nightclub owner known for his flamboyant lifestyle and successful chain of clubs. He was a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, particularly in the UK, and was often referred to as the "King of Clubs."

Peter Stringfellow was born in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. He grew up in a working-class family and left school at the age of 15. Stringfellow's early career included various jobs, such as working in a cinema and as a salesman, before he found his calling in the nightclub business.

Nightclub Ventures[edit]
Stringfellow's first venture into the nightclub scene began in 1962 when he opened the "Black Cat Club" in Sheffield. This was followed by the "King Mojo Club," which became a popular venue for live music, hosting acts such as The Beatles and Jimi Hendrix.
In the 1980s, Stringfellow expanded his business to London, opening the famous "Stringfellows" club in Covent Garden. The club quickly became a hotspot for celebrities and the wealthy, known for its luxurious atmosphere and exclusive clientele.

Following the success of his London club, Stringfellow opened additional venues in New York City, Miami, and Los Angeles. However, not all of these ventures were successful, and some were eventually closed.
