West Hempstead is a hamlet and census-designated place (CDP) located in the Town of Hempstead in Nassau County, on Long Island, in the U.S. state of New York.

West Hempstead is situated at coordinates of 40.704, -73.650. According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 2.8 square miles (7.3 km²), all of which is land.
Demographics[edit]
As of the 2020 census, the population of West Hempstead was 19,835. The area is known for its diverse community and suburban character.
