Cousins Subs is a Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based submarine sandwich shop that was founded in 1972 by cousins Bill Specht and James Sheppard. The chain was created following Specht's disappointment with the sub shops in his new hometown of Milwaukee compared to those in his native New Jersey. The chain expanded to Arizona in 2005, and as of 2018, Cousins Subs operated 100 stores in Wisconsin and Arizona.

History[edit]

Bill Specht and his cousin James Sheppard founded Cousins Subs in 1972. They were inspired by the sub shops in their native New Jersey and were disappointed with the sub shops in their new hometown of Milwaukee. They decided to bring their favorite style of sandwich to the Midwest.

In 2005, Cousins Subs expanded to Arizona. As of 2018, the chain operated 100 stores in Wisconsin and Arizona.

Menu[edit]

Cousins Subs' menu features a variety of submarine sandwiches, salads, sides, and drinks. The sandwiches are made to order and can be customized with a variety of meats, cheeses, vegetables, and condiments. Some of the most popular sandwiches include the Italian Special, the Cheese Steak, and the Turkey Breast.
