A metabolite of norepinephrine



3-Methoxy-4-hydroxyphenylglycol (MHPG) is a metabolite of the neurotransmitter norepinephrine. It is primarily found in the cerebrospinal fluid, blood plasma, and urine. MHPG is used as a marker for the activity of the noradrenergic system in the central nervous system.
