Brian Wansink is an American professor and researcher who is known for his work in the field of consumer behavior and nutrition. He has held various academic positions and has authored numerous publications on how environmental factors influence eating behavior.

Early Life and Education

Brian Wansink was born in . He completed his undergraduate studies at Wayne State College in Nebraska, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration in 1982. He then went on to receive his M.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication from Drake University in 1984. Wansink earned his Ph.D. in Consumer Behavior from Stanford University in 1990.

Academic Career

Wansink began his academic career as an assistant professor at Dartmouth College's Tuck School of Business. He later joined the faculty at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he served as a professor of Business Administration and the Julian Simon Faculty Scholar. In 2005, he became the John S. Dyson Professor of Marketing at the Cornell University's Charles H. Dyson School of Applied Economics and Management.

Brian Wansink is best known for his research on eating behavior and food psychology. His work often focuses on how subtle cues in the environment can influence food consumption. Some of his notable studies include the impact of plate size on portion control, the influence of food labeling on consumer choices, and the role of convenience in healthy eating.
