TranSMART

TranSMART (/trænˈsmɑːrt/) is a global, open-source knowledge management platform for scientists to share pre-competitive translational research data. It is a database used for storing, sharing, and analyzing data in the field of translational medicine.

Etymology

The term "TranSMART" is a combination of the words "translational" and "smart". "Translational" refers to the process of applying knowledge from basic biology and clinical trials to techniques and tools that address critical medical needs. "Smart" implies the intelligent use of this information.
