Statistician

A Statistician (/stəˈtɪʃən/) is a professional who is skilled in the science of Statistics. The term "Statistician" comes from the Latin word "statista," meaning a statesman or politician, and the Greek word "statistikos," which refers to something related to the state.

Role and Responsibilities

A Statistician uses statistical methods to collect and analyze data and help solve real-world problems in business, engineering, healthcare, or other fields. They design surveys, questionnaires, experiments, and opinion polls to collect the data they need. Statisticians are also responsible for interpreting the data and reporting conclusions to their organization or client.

Education and Training

Most Statisticians have degrees in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or Computer Science. Advanced positions may require a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Statistics or a related field. Many statisticians also have a strong background in other fields, such as finance, biology, engineering, or health sciences.
