A prune is a dried plum of any cultivar, mostly the European plum. Prunes contain 418 calories, 0.7 grams of fat, 3.8 grams of protein, 27% of vitamin A, 1% of vitamin C, and 20% of vitamin B-6. Some of their health benefits are they help digestion, controls overactive bladders, builds bones and muscles, reduces cholesterol levels, lowers blood pressure, helps reduce appetite, and protects against emphysema.
