Energy Conservation

Energy conservation (/ˈɛnərdʒi kɒnsəˈveɪʃən/) refers to the efforts made to reduce the consumption of energy by using less of an energy service. This can be achieved either by efficient energy use or by reducing the amount of service used (energy efficiency). Energy conservation is a part of the concept of Eco-sufficiency.

Etymology

The term "energy conservation" comes from the Latin energia meaning activity or operation and the Latin conservatio meaning preservation or maintenance.
