Introduction

The World Brewers Cup is an international coffee brewing competition organized by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA). The competition focuses on promoting manual coffee brewing and excellence in service.

History

The World Brewers Cup was first held in 2011. The competition was created by the Specialty Coffee Association to celebrate the craft of manual brewing. It provides a platform for coffee enthusiasts and professionals to innovate and share their approach to brewing coffee.

Competition Format

The World Brewers Cup consists of two rounds: the Open Service and the Compulsory Service. In the Open Service, competitors are free to use any brewing method and coffee of their choice. In the Compulsory Service, all competitors use the same coffee to prepare their brew.

Judging Criteria

The competition is judged by a panel of experts who evaluate each competitor based on the taste of their coffee, their brewing technique, and their presentation skills. The judges use a standardized scoring system to ensure fairness and consistency.

Winners

The World Brewers Cup has been won by competitors from a variety of countries, including the United States, Japan, and Australia. The winner is awarded the title of "World Brewers Cup Champion" and is recognized as a leading authority in the field of manual coffee brewing.
