Vons is a Southern California and Southern Nevada supermarket chain owned by Albertsons. It is headquartered in Fullerton, California, and operates stores under the Vons and Pavilions banners.
History
Vons was founded in 1906 by Charles Von der Ahe as a 20-foot wide grocery store in downtown Los Angeles. The business grew rapidly and by 1928, Vons had expanded to 87 stores. In 1986, Vons was acquired by Safeway Inc., and in 2015, it became a part of the Albertsons company.
Services
Vons offers a variety of services including a bakery, dairy section, deli, frozen foods, general grocery, meat, pharmacy, produce, seafood, snacks, and liquor. In addition, Vons also provides online shopping and home delivery services.
Vons Club Card
The Vons Club Card is a loyalty program that offers savings and discounts to its members. Customers can sign up for the card in-store or online and use it to earn points on purchases, which can be redeemed for discounts on future shopping trips.
Vons Foundation
The Vons Foundation is a charitable organization that supports a variety of causes, including hunger relief, education, and health and human services. The foundation is funded by donations from Vons customers, employees, and vendors.
