History
The Voluntary Committee of Lawyers was founded in 1927 by a group of lawyers who were concerned about the impact of Prohibition on the American legal system. The VCL's efforts were successful, and Prohibition was repealed in 1933 with the ratification of the Twenty-first Amendment.
