Victor Garber

Canadian actor and singer
Victor Joseph Garber (born March 16, 1949) is a Canadian actor and singer. He is known for his work in theatre, film, and television. Garber has been nominated for Tony Awards, Emmy Awards, and Screen Actors Guild Awards.
Early life[edit]
Garber was born in London, Ontario, Canada, to parents Joe Garber and Hope Garber (née Wolf). His mother was an actress, singer, and host of a television show. He has a brother, Nathan, and a sister, Alisa. Garber began acting at the age of nine and studied at the University of Toronto's Hart House.

Theatre[edit]
Garber's theatre career includes performances in both musical theatre and drama. He made his Broadway debut in 1972 in the musical Godspell. He has also appeared in productions such as Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, Noises Off, and Assassins. Garber has been nominated for four Tony Awards for his work in theatre.

Garber's film career includes roles in notable films such as Titanic (1997), where he played Thomas Andrews, the ship's builder. He has also appeared in Argo (2012), Legally Blonde (2001), and Milk (2008).
Television[edit]
Garber is well-known for his television roles, including Jack Bristow in the series Alias (2001–2006), for which he received three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He has also appeared in Eli Stone, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow. Garber has guest-starred in numerous other television series and has been nominated for several Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Garber married artist and model Rainer Andreesen in 2015. He is openly gay and has been an advocate for LGBT rights.
