Vicky Clement-Jones (1948–1987) was a prominent British oncologist and cancer advocate who made significant contributions to the support and care of individuals living with cancer. She is best known for co-founding the charity Cancerbackup, now part of Macmillan Cancer Support, which aimed to provide comprehensive information and support to cancer patients and their families.

Throughout her career, she worked tirelessly to improve the lives of her patients, focusing on both their physical and emotional well-being.
Cancer Advocacy[edit]
In 1982, after her own diagnosis with cancer, Clement-Jones co-founded Cancerbackup, recognizing the need for a comprehensive support system for cancer patients beyond the medical treatment they received. The charity's mission was to offer up-to-date information and support to anyone affected by cancer, including patients, their families, and caregivers. Under her leadership, Cancerbackup became a vital resource, providing free access to information about all types of cancer, treatment options, and the management of cancer-related symptoms and side effects.
