History

The Barton 1792 Distillery was established in 1879 by Ben Mattingly and Tom Moore. The distillery was later purchased by Oscar Getz who renamed it after the Barton Creek that runs through the property. The Very Old Barton brand was introduced in the mid-20th century and has since become a staple in the bourbon industry.

Production

Very Old Barton is made using a traditional bourbon production process. The mash bill, or recipe, for Very Old Barton includes corn, rye, and malted barley.
