Usain St Leo Bolt, OJ, CD (/ˈjuːseɪn/; born 21 August 1986) is a retired Jamaican sprinter widely considered to be the greatest sprinter of all time. He is a world record holder in the 100 metres, 200 metres, and 4 × 100 metres relay. Bolt is an eight-time Olympic gold medalist and an eleven-time World Champion. His achievements in sprinting have earned him the nickname "Lightning Bolt".

Early Life

Usain Bolt was born in Sherwood Content, a small town in Trelawny, Jamaica. From a young age, Bolt showed a natural talent for sprinting, dominating school sprint events. His early career was marked by his participation in the 2002 World Junior Championships, where he won the 200m, making him the youngest world-junior gold medalist ever.

Career

Bolt's career took off in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics, where he won gold in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay, setting world records in both individual events.
