The University of South Alabama (USA) is a public research university located in Mobile, Alabama. Founded in 1963, it is one of the largest universities in the state of Alabama, offering a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs.

History

The University of South Alabama was established by the Alabama Legislature in 1963 to serve the educational needs of the southern region of the state. The university opened its doors to students in 1964 with a modest enrollment, which has since grown significantly.
