The University of Bridgeport (UB) is a private university located in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Established in 1927, the university offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs.
History
The University of Bridgeport was founded in 1927 as the Junior College of Connecticut, the first junior college chartered by a legislature in the northeastern United States. In 1947, it became a four-year institution and was renamed the University of Bridgeport.
Campus
The university's main campus is situated in an urban setting in the South End of Bridgeport, overlooking Long Island Sound.
