Twitter
Twitter (/ˈtwɪtər/) is an American microblogging and social networking service on which users post and interact with messages known as "tweets". Registered users can post, like, and retweet tweets, but unregistered users can only read them.
Etymology
The name "Twitter" comes from the word "twit", which means "a trivial or foolish speech or writing". The name was chosen to represent the short, quick messages that the platform allows.
