Tommy Lyons (pronunciation: TAH-mee LIE-ons) is a former professional American football player who played in the National Football League (NFL).
Etymology
The name "Tommy" is derived from the Aramaic name "Toma", which means "twin". "Lyons" is of Irish origin and is a geographical surname derived from the Irish "Laighin" meaning "spear" or "javelin".
Career
Tommy Lyons played as a center for the Denver Broncos from 1976 to 1983. He was part of the team that reached Super Bowl XII in 1977.
