Titan Pharmaceuticals
Titan Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is an American pharmaceutical company that develops therapeutics for select chronic diseases utilizing its innovative, long-term, continuous drug delivery platform, ProNeura. The company's primary asset is Probuphine, a six-month buprenorphine implant for the maintenance treatment of opioid addiction.

Titan Pharmaceuticals was founded in 1992 in South San Francisco, California. The company was initially focused on the development of treatments for central nervous system disorders. Over the years, Titan has shifted its focus towards the development of therapeutics for the treatment of chronic diseases, with a particular emphasis on opioid addiction.
ProNeura Technology[edit]
Titan's ProNeura technology is a long-term, continuous drug delivery system that consists of a small, solid implant made from a mixture of ethylene-vinyl acetate and a drug substance. The implant is inserted subdermally and is designed to deliver drugs at a stable, continuous rate for up to six months.
Probuphine[edit]
Probuphine is Titan's lead product, which utilizes the ProNeura technology to deliver buprenorphine, a partial opioid agonist, for the long-term maintenance treatment of opioid addiction. Probuphine was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in 2016.
